Consequently, there are speculation that the flight was actually taken down by acts of terrorism. Aviation and security experts have suggested that the disappearance of an EgyptAir flight from Paris to Cairo may have been caused by an explosive device.
A captain of a ship sailing in Mediterranean was reported to have said that he saw huge flames in the sky.
There have been conflicting reports about whether the plane sent an emergency distress signal but the Egyptian Military Spokes Person denied receiving any emergency distress signal.

The Independent reported that many people are pointing to high levels of security at Charles de Gaulle airport, where surveillance and checks have been increased in the wake of November's Paris attacks.
The plane, registration SU-GCC, had recently flown to Tunis, in Tunisia,  Asmara, in Eritrea, Brussels, in Belgium, Alexandria, in Egypt, and Beirut in Lebanon.

Intense speculation continues over the possible causes of the plane's disappearance.
Aviation and security experts are examing the possibility of the use of an explosive device, as well as technical failure, hijack and deliberate sabotage.

Will Geddes, managing director of private security firm International Corporate Protection, urged people to be “cautious” about assuming the disappearance was caused by terrorism because the flight had departed from Paris, which has suffered several attacks.
The aircraft disappeared from radar at 3.05am local time and Egyptian officials said an automated signal was received 90 minutes later. The military said a distress call was not received an hour ago

"An official source at EgyptAir stated that Flight MS804, which departed Paris at 23:09 (CEST), heading to Cairo has disappeared from radar," the airline said on its official Twitter account.

EgyptAir said the plane, which was traveling at an altitude of 37,000ft, disappeared soon after entering Egyptian airspace.
However huge rescue efforts are already in Mediterranean sea searching for the aircraft. They comprises of more than 14 ships including some from the Egyptian Navy, many nearby ships are also involved in the search. France who has the second highest number of casualty has promised more search planes, boats and high tech devices to be deployed in the search operation
